Time for a confession. I see that my last post was when I returned from IGHR in 2012! It is now September of 2013. That simple math means I have not written a post in over a year. Well that is about to change!
Does that also mean that I have not done anything with my genealogy in all that time? No. I have continued my genealogy education by attending webinars and seminars when I can. I also enrolled in and completed the Boston University Certificate in Genealogical Research online program last Fall. I traveled back to Birmingham again this year to IGHR at Samford and took the Land Records course.
In addition, I continue to participate in our local Legacy Users Group here in Austin. I have also become more involved in my local genealogical societies.
But have I worked on my genealogy? Well, no… I have increased my knowledge of genealogical research methods, but I haven’t really worked on my people. That will need to change.
My hope is that you will soon see more activity on this blog. I am a procrastinator when it comes to writing. That was one of the reasons for starting a blog. It doesn’t make much sense researching your family if you never write about it, does it? I just need to get over it and, as NIke says, “Just do it”.
Today is Sept. 15, 2013. Let’s see how much time goes by before the next post. If it is less than a week, I am doing well.
